Today on December 20, 2025, Micah Hackett would have turned 26 years old. Instead he is in Heaven, enjoying his seventh year there. I don’t have many of my own words to add to this article; instead I would like to share with you a poem that Micah wrote in 2013. He truly desired to live his life for the Lord, and I pray that my desires would be the same.
‘and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.’
II Corinthians 5:15
Lord, I Give my All!
By Micah Hackett
The people are dying,
And Hell is in view.
Can you not hear the crying?
Does it not burden you?
The King came to serve.
How much more now should I,
Especially knowing
For me He did die?
What is my duty?
Lord, show it to me?
Is it to preach, to sing,
To die, Lord, for Thee?
Whatever it is,
What’er it may be,
Fully submitted,
I commit, Lord, to Thee.
I will preach to the lost.
I will honor Your Word.
I will cling to the cross.
I will trust in the Lord.
Anything you ask, Lord,
I will fulfill.
Decisions I’ll make
In line with your will.
From the depths of my heart,
I surrender to you.
My life is not mine,
And your will I’ll pursue.
I count my life dross,
Death is truly gain,
For me, gain is loss,
And sin is what’s pain.
With my passion and zeal,
E’n when death comes to call,
Though threatened by men,
Lord I will give my ALL!
